Good afternoon!

How’s everyone? Care to update me?

((OOC: sorry for the absence, I was kind of usy))

Writing Specialization

The Silver Eyes lesson had been quite interesting. She got to spar with a pretty good partner. Of course she had to improve her perception of Yoki, but still.

Now there was the lesson that interested her the most: writing specialization. She was quite thrilled about it. She loved writing, that was why she had chosen that lesson. Riful went into the classroom and sat by one of the desk in the middle,
“I want to see how it is”
She thought. As she waited for someone to come in, she took out a notebook and a pen, just in case.

Galatea’s eyebrows scrunched up in confusion. The classroom didn’t seem to settle down and the group of students returning hadn’t helped. A few underclassman waltzed into class late and weren’t helping with calming the class down. Less than half of the students in…

Riful, who had been listening to Galatea with indifference, smiled. She could sense curiosity coming from Undine, the girl who had asked her for a spar. She tilted her head and went by her.
- Of course I don’t mind. I’d love to spar a bit.
She paused for a second, then stretched her arm towards the door.
- Shall we go to the practice area?
She thought it would have been fun just testing out her own skills and Undine’s.

“Okay, cool. Let me get in gear and my weapons.” As she walked into her dorm room she looked at both of her swords. She spun them with skill and speed but was still unsure of the practice fight. Undine went to the gym to find Riful all ready and willing. “This will be interesting, to say the least.” The intimidation she felt had to be stifled or she was sure to lose.

Riful nodded.
“She surely is quite in a rush for a fight…”
She thought. When Undine was before her, he observed at the way the other girl was holding her swords. Two swords, she noticed.
“It will be more difficult than usual. That’s good, I’ll enjoy the fight a bit”
She mentally added. She drew out her sword and pointed it towards Undine.
- Yours is the first move.

‘Good. First move is always an advantage.’ She thought. “You’re not so tough.” Undine lunged forward to double sweep her swords… but she missed. “Whaa…?” She searched for her spar partner who was far to her Undine’s right side.

Riful had easily dodged the blow. She had quickly moved to Undine’s right side.
- You have good moves, but you can’t perceive Yoki very well, am I right?
Her tone was quite serious. She added cheerfully:
- Let’s try again, I’m sure you are very skilled!
Riful proceeded to attack Undine with a swift thrust directed on her right side.

“Ugh!” If it wasn’t for her gear, Undine would easily have been injured. ‘I’m such a fool. Rushing into this blindly knowing my weakness never goes well.’

“This is stupid. I don’t need to prove anything to you!”

Riful’s expression became pensive. Then she smiled again. She pointed again her sword towards Undine and said:
- My, my, I was just encouraging you.
She made a short pause, then added:
- I know you don’t need to prove anything! You can beat me! Just concentrate better!
She held her sword in a defensive position.
- Come, I’m waiting for your move!

Undine managed to slow her breath, closed her eyes, and steady herself. She kept her yoki focused on her muscles. She couldn’t control it before. She swept the sword her main hand that met Riful’s. ‘Wow. If only I had been this calm from the beginning.’

Riful smiled happily, gaining again her equilibrium and taking a step back..
- See? Now it’s better! I knew you could! Now, shall we continue?
Without waiting for an answer, she moved swiftly towards Undine and attacked at her left side. She hit her with a quick blow, then moved to the right.

“Damn it” Okay, she knew that was coming. She just was fast enough to block. Riful definitely had the advantage in this match. Before Undine could parry, the bell rang.

Winded and defeated, she reached to shake the hand of her first spar partner of the year. “Good match. Thanks for the tips. I’ll actually have to use them next time.”

The bell rang. Riful sheathed her sword and raised a thumb.
- No problem, I’m sure you’ll beat me next time! See you!
With that she took off her gear and went to the next lesson.
